networking fix update…

we submitted 2.4 with networking fix on saturday and are working with apple to get 2.4 approved as quick as possible. meanwhile we removed the app from the following countries which are having network problems: France, Singapore, Switzerland, and Austrlia.

as soon as 2.4 is approved, will re-enable those countries back in…

we apologize a million times for this and hope you will all be enjoying 2.4 shortly.

    its all down to Apple now – i suggest that we all bombard apple with our need for Whatsapp 2.4 and that Whatsapp should go into the history books of being THE MOST BESTEST iphone app ever created!!

    Hello,

    Removing this app from the Australian store because of issues with one carrier is short-sighted. We have multiple carriers here and only one of them have the issue (Optus). Vodafone, Telstra & 3 have no issues yet no-one on those networks can now access the application.

    Next time you should re-think your strategy. Perhaps just a note in the description saying there is a bug for that particular network? Why punish the many for the problems for the few?

      shane, because most people don’t read description and we can’t be charging people money for a product that doesn’t work after they buy it. anyways, 2.4 got got approved and app has been re-enabled in the australian itunes store.

    BTW – the 2.4 update is showing in iTunes now, so best if you turn the app back on in Australia.

    Although this bug (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2259255&tstart=0) is causing me grief in updating.

    2.4 download does not work even after deleting 2.3 and downloading 2.4 from the appstore it still says 2.3.
    Downloading in the UAE thrue the dutch appstore.

    Ok quick update….installed update from AppStore (as can be read above from my previous post) jus clicked on the about button in whatsapp n it’s still saying version 2.3.

    Went back into AppStore n it’s still saying update to 2.4!! What is goin on??? Arghhh!!!

    This is what I got from the Gurus of whatsapp…”what you are witnessing is a common iTunes App store bug where it installs old version instead of the new one.  it will clear on its own in 12-18 hours and you will be able to download 2.4 at that time”.

    See u in 12-18hrs time for a status update!!

    2.4 is now up and working on the Singapore app store. So far so good, I just had to do the ‘airplane mode’ trick once and it’s been working great ever since!

    On a sidenote, maybe you guys could look into expanding the text area so that I don’t have to scroll to read the entire length of my msg if it’s long. And could you guys please bring back the ‘trriing’ tone that sounds when you’re on the app but the screen is off? It’s easily the most recognizable tone I hear when my phone is in my pocket.

    its been just over 12 hours….and guys at whatsapp….you’ve done it again!! amazing work!!! thanks for the update – ive just tested the app with no wifi on and im not getting the connection error message!!

    downloaded 2.4, worked fine for half an hour, but now can’t connect to network.. argh

    Er.. Guys. I’m on singtel in Singapore, whatsapp isn’t working on 3G again. What’s worse, my Twitter and MSN apps can’t connect either. Don’t know if it’s whatsapp or singtel causing the problem. :( ((
